Video: Women’s History Comes Alive
The local CDPF has plans to turn the residence of the last Ottoman ruler of Sanaa (1926) into the Museum of Yemen’s Modern History (1948 – present).
Dr. Raufa Hassan, head of the CDPF, talks about women’s ignored role in Yemen’s 1962 Revolution that toppled the Imamate and which sparked the idea for the project. CDPF Press Secretary Ahmed al-Zorqah gives us a tour of the house.
The project is on hold pending funding.
Music by Yemeni musician Ayoub Taresh Absi and Yemeni-American rapper Hagage “AJ” Masaed.
