Old Sanaa architecture
Tower houses in Old Sanaa can be 300 years old. The multi-story buildings are houses for the extended family, not apartments, and are skillfully built of mudbrick. Traditionally, Yemeni Jews were involved in construction or the making of qamariyas, the stained-glass half-moon-shaped windows above the regular windows, and so the Jewish Star of David can often be seen in the architecture of Old Sanaa, as in this photo.
