The Songkran festivities are a three-day street party celebrating the Thai New Year. Silom Street, left, is packed with revelers, and everyone must get drenched with water. There are lots of friendly water fights, loud music and dancing in the streets, and Thais warmly rub a muddy white substance (talc) on your face. This is the friendliest and most fun party, not to mention the biggest and longest party I’ve ever seen. Happy Thai New Year!
